About Terry Beech
Terry Beech is the MP for the new riding of Burnaby North-Seymour, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard. He is an accomplished small business owner, educator, and community advocate who has built his reputation by acting on his strong commitment to innovation, fiscal leadership, and integrity.
Terry was only 18 when he was elected as a city councilor in Nanaimo, BC. After a successful 3-year term, he left public office to further his education, putting himself through the business programs at Capilano University and Simon Fraser University. A few years later, Terry earned his MBA from Oxford University.
With a focus on innovation, Terry has built successful companies, including HiretheWorld, which he co-founded in 2009. He has also served as an adjunct professor at both Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia. Recognizing his outstanding abilities, he was chosen as one of BC’s “Top 40 Under 40” by Business in Vancouver and by Maclean’s magazine as one of Canada’s Top 10 leaders under 30.
